Time for Togetherness After the Hectic Holidays Explore the Sierra Pelonas above Valencia, and the Heart N Soul Cafe!
Resolved! Spend quality time with the ones you love with a visit to the Heart N Soul Coffee House and Home-Cookin’ Café.
The backdrop? The serene Sierra Pelona Ridge Mountains, only 15 minutes north of Valencia. Enjoy a peaceful scenic drive past rolling hills and 700-year old oaks. Explore a local trail. Or pay tribute at the site of the St. Francis Dam Natural Disaster. Work up your appetite. Then try out the Heart N Soul, a quirky foodies’ haven with a mellow vibe in a home-town atmosphere.
Nestled at the intersection of San Francisquito and Spunky Canyon in Green Valley, it’s become a cult classic. Its cozy bistro provides a genial ambiance, or enjoy the large dog-friendly outdoor dining patio, winterized and heated, where you can dine under sunny skies and spectacular cotton-candy pink sunsets all year round.
Plentiful platters of savory comfort food, created by a fine-dining chef, and inspired by the freedom innovation brings. Combining elements of different culinary traditions, this out-of-the-way eclectic eatery is not easy to categorize! Heart N Soul’s menu focuses on freshness and flavor, featuring sumptuous all home-made dishes like tri-tip stroganoff, savory meatloaf, mouth-watering meatballs with slow-simmered marinara or meat sauce pasta, Canadian poutine, famous fish tacos, huge custom Angus Burgers with platters of crispy waffle fries or onion rings, garlic smashed potatoes, melt-in-your-mouth creamy mac n’ cheese, award-winning steak chili with all the fixins, fabulous flavorful daily soups, fresh crispy salads, enormous specialty “sammiches,” and more. Breakfasts, similarly, feature delicious platters of home-cooked delights, breakfast burritos, and home-fried taters. Specializing, too, in espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, specialty teas, and over 100 flavors of rich milkshakes and smoothies. Finally, try amazing desserts – including the famous home-made chocolate chip pecan “Dirty Hand Cookies.”
Heart N Soul also presents the “Art N Soul Country Bazaar” – a fresh air country market. Local artists/vendors sell art, unique crafts, and flea-market-style treasures. Held one Saturday a month: January 20th; February 17th; March 24th; shopping 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
