 Our town is filled with celebrities and as much as we get star struck, Santa Clarita residents sure do know when to ask for a picture and when to just let celebrities be people too. I am sure Kanye appreciated the fact the SCV resident Nick Sandoval did! He snapped a covert picture and shared with us, “My name is Nick Sandoval. This picture is me with rapper Kanye West at the Hart Holiday Basketball Classic on Friday, December 29, 2017. Hart was playing Sierra Canyon in the championship game. He was sitting in the Hart High School stands along with former NBA players Scottie Pipen, Derek Fischer and Kenyon Martin.”
Kanye Omari West is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, fashion designer, and entrepreneur. West released his debut album The College Dropout in 2004 to widespread critical and commercial success, and founded the record label GOOD Music. He went on to pursue a variety of styles on subsequent albums Late Registration (2005), Graduation (2007), and 808s & Heartbreak (2008). In 2010, he released his fifth album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy to rave reviews from critics, and the following year he released the collaborative album Watch the Throne with Jay-Z. West released his abrasive sixth album, Yeezus, to further critical praise in 2013. His seventh album, The Life of Pablo, was released in 2016.
Another resident and Santa Clarita celebrity, David Guenther, owner of J.David’s Custom Clothiers is no stranger to seeing stars. He shared his experience with actress Shanola Hampton; “Loved taking care of Shanola Hampton, from the hit television series ‘Shameless’ and her husband Daren Dukes. She says he wears everything from J.David’s Custom Clothiers on the red carpet as well as other events and gets rave compliments. She’s one of the coolest ever! This tux we just did for him to wear next week is off the hook: Watch for the pics of him in a Navy Camouflage Tux Coat with jacquard houndstooth and black satin peak lapels! It’s amazing! And yes—her dress was hot-hot-hot!” – David Guenther
Hampton has appeared in several television series, such as Shameless, Reba, Popular, Scrubs, Criminal Minds, Related, and Miami Medical. She has also had roles in the movies: The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life of Ethan Green, The Hanged Man, Christmas in the City, and You Again.
