Kindergarten Success
Kindergarten Roundups continue this month in SCV. Do you know what is expected when your child starts Kindergarten? At this time of the year many parents wonder, “Is my child ready to enter the world of Elementary School?” If your child has been given the opportunity to attend a preschool with a versatile curriculum that allows them to learn the social and self-help skills that are beneficial to being successful, you should have no worries.
Most Elementary Schools ask families to bring their child in for Kindergarten testing to determine how prepared they are. Preschool will help prepare each child for the interview and testing process, socially, emotionally and academically.
At Creative Years, children are placed in small classes where they learn to communicate, solve problems, and be a friend to their fellow classmates. They will also learn how to communicate with their teacher and other adults. The teachers are well trained and educated so that each child can work on individual needs as well as class curriculum requirements. The enriched curriculum ensures that your child is academically ready while at the same time a creative and independent thinker. Our hands-on approach when learning letters, phonics, math, science, music, art and so on is very successful.
When entering Kindergarten, the class size will most likely double or triple from what your child is used to in preschool. Therefore, children need to be prepared with self-help skills and the ability to study independently. This should be part of a preschools goals and objectives.
At Creative Years we work on these skills all year long. We receive excellent feedback from elementary schools that our children attend. They comment on how well rounded and prepared the students are and how they have mastered the skills that are essential to their success in elementary school. This validates how important it is to stay up to date on Kindergarten readiness.
