Celebrating Five Years on Main Street with Ma Maison – Owner Denise Myers shares the beauty of her carefully crafted boutique
When you walk into Ma Maison you can feel the weight of the world just melt away. The carefully curated and incredibly thoughtfully decorated boutique invites people off Main Street and into the store with the colorful and seasonal décor.
“Your window is the first in-person opportunity to share your business with your potential customers. I strive to create unique displays with seasonal items and great gifts in general. We also gift wrap, which is something most people forget about until after the gift is purchased. I love helping my customers cross two things off the list by being able to offer the gift at a great cost, and the wrapping for free,” says owner Denise Myers.
This year marks four years of Ma Maison with Denise at the helm, five years on Main Street and 15 years as a business in Santa Clarita. Partnering with fellow business owner Erin Hopkins of White Fig Designs, the two women are celebrating with a unique anniversary event.
“We both feel strongly about collaborating with fellow business owners, and it’s important to our small retail community in Old Town Newhall to support one another, our growth depends on it,” says Denise.
Mark your calendar and save the date on April 13th. There will be raffles, music and some pretty special guests.
Jessie Rader (The Wild Mystic Woman) who will be talking about crystals and their uses, joined by Tina Landrum (New Path Energy Center) who will provide a demonstration of crystal griding on the body and followed by the girls of Om Shanti Sound giving attendees a taste of their Chakra Crystal singing bowl sound baths. Artist Shima Shanti, who’s artwork is now debuting in Ma Maison, will be on hand to sign her work and bring special pieces created just for Ma Maison! This will be a special opportunity to celebrate with all these beautiful ladies in one unique place! Follow Ma Maison on Facebook and Instagram for up to date details on the event.
In the past year, Denise has listened to her customers, and has made some significant changes to the boutique. Choosing the brands, and products, she believes in and carries has always been a huge part of what drives Denise.
“I recently added a new brand of essential oils to the shop, rareESSENCE. What I love about this product line is the quality and purity of the oils, plus it’s an excellent price point for my customers.
The many uses and therapeutic benefits of essential oils were important to me, and the many applications of this brand are so vast, and I really believe in them,” says Denise
rareESSENCE is artisan-crafted in small batches. Their website says, “All of our products are hand-crafted in our Minneapolis-based headquarters, which affords us complete control over the purity and quality of every element of our products. From hand-pouring our candles and mixing their mineral pigments to blending the oils for aroma therapeutic synergies to decanting our perfumes, honoring the ancient principles of perfumery, we ensure everything we create is a rare and precious gift from nature to you.”
I can easily see why this is a brand and product Denise is passionate about, and I am excited to try it at home with my kids.
Denise also shared some news about the happenings on Main Street. “We’ve seen the opening of a new restaurant two doors down, which has brought us new customers. People love being able to stroll around here and support the local small businesses and having choices in dining and shopping is awesome. Starting in March the City of Santa Clarita kicks off the Thursdays @ Newhall events. Ma Maison is right in the heart of the Senses street party on the 3rd Thursday of the month from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. We get the opportunity to show the store to many new people who may not have been down to Old Town Newhall in a while. That is a night we stay open late and always celebrate whatever the theme may be. It’s a super fun night for all who come down to listen to music, shop and eat local and enjoy the entertainment the City has provided.’
