CASI Celebrates Four Years of Creating Magic with Clay – Ceramic Artist Studio, Inc.
It was just four years ago that Old Town Newhall business owner Rima Raulinaitis opened Ceramic Artist Studio, Inc. or CASI, an educational artist studio focused on ceramic arts.
“My idea began with a vision to create a space where artists, of all levels, could come together to learn and create. A place where they can store their materials and tools, as well as bounce ideas off of each other,” said Rima.
Basically, she offers her studio to be used as your studio. Whether you are brand new to clay and need guided instruction, or if you are experienced and want to create on your own, or somewhere in between, you’ll find this a perfect haven. What came to fruition is a lovely community of artists who use the studio to create their own works of art and try new techniques.
The studio space is located in Old Town Newhall, the Arts & Entertainment district of the City of Santa Clarita. You may have seen the unique building on the right-hand side of Railroad Avenue in downtown Newhall as you drive to the 14 freeway. Behind the doors you will find a space with endless possibilities. The front room often hosts art exhibits and gallery shows as well as displays some of the works of Rima’s friends and family.
“It’s not often you find classes or studios where you can leave your belongings, materials and tools in the studio. In most places the space is just not available. When I purchased this building, I knew I wanted to transform it to be the most functional space for our community. I added the Kiln shed in the back and that created a beautiful courtyard. The space just evolved into what it is today,” said Rima.
CASI offers over 2,300 square feet of brightly lit, climate controlled creative workspace just waiting for you to explore. Give them a call at 661-260-CASI(2274) and visit www.casiceramics.com. You can also email: rima@casiceramics.com.
