S.T.R.E.A.M. Talk
S.T.R.E.A.M. Talk had a recent interview with Quan Gan the founder and CEO of Gantom Lighting and Controls – an LED lighting Manufacturer that specializes in the smallest theatrical fixtures in the world located here in our backyard of Santa Clarita. The company’s product is found in all the major theme parks, museums, and even haunted attractions.
Quan Gan, CEO of Gantom shares, “Gantom was first involved with S.T.R.E.A.M. Kids Expo™ through one of our employees, it’s a great thing they’re doing. Their inspiring a lot of kids to become the future in Science and Technology [Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Manufacturing] and that really resonates with my heart. It empowers the things that they are learning every day. It’s not just some random fact that the teacher is throwing at them. It’s relevant to their futures. If you’re making efforts to inspire the future and make a better future that’s what S.T.R.E.A.M. Kids Expo™ is all about. I really encourage any other company to look at this as a long-term investment and get involved.”
Within the Manufacturing industry according to the National Association of Manufacturers, “Over the next decade, nearly 3.5 million manufacturing jobs will likely be needed, and 2 million are expected to go unfilled due to the skills gap. Moreover, according to a recent report, 80 percent of manufacturers report a moderate or serious shortage of qualified applicants for skilled and highly-skilled production positions” S.T.R.E.A.M.’s goal is to create long term relationships with companies like Gantom Lighting and Controls to connect the dots between today’s education and future career opportunities. We work to stimulate conversation about the required skill sets for students interested in manufacturing, so they are prepared for the career in the near future.
