There’s Something New Brewing in Old Town Newhall

 And it’s becoming one of the hottest places for day and nightlife-fun here in the Santa Clarita Valley. Brewery Draconum (Latin translation “of the Dragons”) is a family owned and operated business that “started with a shared vision to create a new-style social, dining, recreational experience centered around the world of craft beer” says co-owner and Brewmaster Ben Law.
With 20 taps that feature anywhere from eight to 12 original house brews, each with a fresh and distinct flavor profiles, as well as a constant rotation of regional guest beers (including sours and ciders), along with a variety of wine selections. Basically, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
The menu, created by Chef Andres Moya, consists of a variety of elevated pub-style dishes, many infused with Draconum brews in order to carry the unique flavors into the food.  Everything is homemade (including the potato chips!), and carefully crafted to pair.
The family wanted to provide a gathering place for people looking to experience the world of craft beer, coupled with a well-paired menu in a community-style setting that is friendly and reminds you of home with an element of social recreation. And what a place they have created!  The inside was designed with a wall of windows looking into the working brewery, and the expansive exterior was designed as a traditional, community-style beer garden where customers can play a round or two on the double lane bocce court, try their hand at corn-hole, or enjoy chess & checkers atop the wine barrels.
Brewery Draconum is currently developing an entertainment calendar that will include live music and Monday night Trivia…so stay tuned!
