“Moncho1929” Art Exhibit at the Main in Newhall To Showcase Modern Media-Inspired Urban Artwork

by | May 25, 2018 | For the Love of Dining

The art gallery at The MAIN in Old Town Newhall is featuring “Moncho1929,” a self-titled art exhibition showcasing works from the avant-garde artist, born Dan Monteavaro, known for his attention-catching commissioned murals and politically-themed pieces. The exhibition will be on display through Friday, June 15.
Through continuing evolutions in his world travels throughout London, Italy and Korea, Moncho’s work has developed a focus on social commentary. He uses a variety of diverse techniques, ranging from graffiti and street art stylings, to traditional forms such as silkscreen and representational drawing, even integrating Warhol-influenced pop art aesthetics. Born and raised in New York City, Moncho now resides and works in Los Angeles. Since his arrival on the West Coast, his work has been featured by the Los Angeles French Consulate, NBC, Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Whole Foods Market, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Co., The NBA and the city governments of Glendale, West Hollywood, San Pedro, and Los Angeles, CA, among others.
The gallery at The MAIN is open for viewing during all events, as well as Tuesdays through Fridays, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The MAIN is located at 24266 Main Street in Newhall.
