Healthy Vents and Healthy Insulation

Your air vents allow outside air to enter your home. Dust, dirt, and smoke particles can enter through your roof, attic, gable vents, and soffit vents. Most homes, (95 percent) have the one-quarter inch vent screen grids. These vent screens are cheap and thin. They are very susceptible to rodent intrusion, and they allow large fire embers to enter your attic areas. All contaminants that enter these areas will usually collect in and on your insulation.
