A Night with Our Stars At the 8th Annual SCV Dancing With Our Stars

You won’t find a better reason this year to strap on a pair of dancing shoes and come out to support the many non-profits that benefit from this year’s SCV Dancing With Our Stars event! This year, we are doing something different with the opening performance by Violist Daniel Morris, it will be absolutely divine, a must-see! Over the years we have raised well over the million-dollar mark, with a fundraising total of $1.5 million since the inaugural event in 2009, and this is sure to be another hit!
Our 8th annual competition will feature 20 non-profits with a mix of celebrity dancers and group performances alongside a lineup of professional dancers from Vibe Performing Arts and D’Wilfri DanceArt and Entertainment.
“With many new faces and our special opening act, we are more excited than ever to share this lively show with our community,” said Alexander Hafizi, Vice President and event co-chair. “We’re very grateful to the contributions from our professional dance partners and leading sponsors. Their support has made this year more exciting than ever!”
SCV DWOS is a friendly dance competition where celebrity dancers and professional dancers pair up to raise money for the non-profit organization they’ve chosen to represent. Guests will have the opportunity to cast money votes using script, and dancing partners also will be judged by a panel of celebrity judges. This year our judges include KTLA’s Chris Schauble, founder of SCV DWOS Linda Hafizi, along with Actress and News Reporter Bella Shaw. All proceeds raised from this not-for-profit event are donated directly to the benefitting organizations, including ticket sales.

The City of Santa Clarita
The City of Santa Clarita is another In the Spotlight Sponsor and has been supporting SCV DWOS for several years. With their continued support we have been able to raise over $1.5 million. Assistant City Manager Frank Oviedo shared why the City has been long time sponsors of this event, “Non-profit organizations in Santa Clarita provide vital resources for our residents, and Dancing With Our Stars brings the community together to help raise awareness and funds for these groups. The City of Santa Clarita is proud to support this wonderful event.”

Santa Clarita Veteran Services Collaborative
The Santa Clarita Veteran Services Collaborative is the place for Veterans to get most of their post-service needs met. As the only resource center for veterans in the city they have brought aide to our heroes on a grand scale. This year, this non-profit organization has furthered their support as one of our In the Spotlight Sponsors. We sat down with Elliot Wolfe and he shared why he chose to be a part of this year’s SCV DWOS. “Being one of the leaders of the Santa Clarita Veterans Services Collaborative, I feel that it is our responsibility to the community, and to the Veterans we serve, to be a part of any event that makes the community a better place to live, and the residents to more likely notice the needs of the veteran community.”
