Patriotism in the Santa Clarita Valley

by | Jul 24, 2018 | On The Town

America, a Patriotic Concert was presented by the Newhall Scenic Hills Singers, conducted by Roger B. Lamb, the Sunday before the Fourth of July.
A magnificent group of 16 singers blew the roof off the room! Their harmonized renditions of Shenandoah, The Battle Hymn of the Republic and other favorites brought out those goosebumps.
When doing A Tribute to the Armed Services, audience members were invited to stand during their branch of service anthem. A 95-year-old man rose, as the only representative of the Navy, and there wasn’t a dry-eye in the place.
A tender solo performance of “I’ll Be Seeing You” (favorite of American and British soldiers during WWII) touched us all.
We thank the chorus, conductor, piano accompanist and bassoon player for lifting our hearts!
