A Note From the Publishers – November 2018
It’s time to be thankful and we are giving thanks to everyone for all of the positive comments we received for the “new look” Santa Clarita Magazine, we are thrilled that you like the new size, logo and layout, so thank you!
The Santa Clarita Valley is home to many amazing people, one of our favorite things to do is to recognize them for all that they do. Allan Cameron approached us last month to share the news that the Castaic Lake Lions Club and the William S. Hart Union High School District will once again, unselfishly, be giving up their Thanksgiving Day to serve our seniors. It literally takes a village to pull off 1,000+ plates of delicious turkey with all the trimmings, not to mention the party atmosphere and decor, which I am told includes placemats that are hand made by local school kids, it should be quite the gathering and everyone is invited, so don’t forget to reserve your spot.
Talking about reserving your spot, I am told that the 8th Annual Red Carpet Runway Fashion Show & Boutique is selling out fast! Many thanks to the hard-working ladies of Soroptimist International Greater Santa Clarita Valley and special thanks to Valencia Acura for stepping up as Title Sponsors of the event, it’s so nice to see our dear friend Cheri Fleming on our cover this month representing the “dealership,” or should I say the “friendship”! It promises to be a fabulous affair so try not to miss it.
In this issue, we bring you a special section celebrating the winners of the SCV 40 Under Forty. For the past five years, Santa Clarita Magazine has partnered with the SCV Jaycees with the organization of this great event. It’s so encouraging to see such talented young people being recognized, we are excited to attend the event on November 9 and to celebrate the next generation of entrepreneurs.
We are getting ready for the holidays and happy to bring to you our Holiday Beauty & Gift Guide, whether you are looking for a new look, or just want to find a beautiful gift check out our guide.
Personally, we are fortunate to have a large family and we are looking forward to gathering together to eat the traditional turkey lunch, so from our family to yours, we wish you a very safe and happy Thanksgiving Day.
Until next time
Linda, Moe and Alexander Hafizi
