Elect Jason Gibbs for Santa Clarita City Council

 Jason Gibbs is a husband, father, engineer, and a lifelong Californian. He met the love of his life, Chandra, while pursuing his Master’s degree at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He and Chandra got married and planted roots in Santa Clarita. Not only was Santa Clarita the ideal place to build a life together and raise a family, but Chandra was also able to secure her dream job at Santa Clarita’s own Boston Scientific. Soon after, their happiness was made complete with the births of their children, Aiden (2 years) and Avery (8 months). But it was Aiden’s birth in 2016 that would forever change their lives and put Jason on the track that has brought us to today.
After Aiden’s birth, Jason experienced what every parent experiences: the never ending worry that comes with parenthood. No matter your socioeconomic status, race, or education, worry is the constant companion of every parent. Jason understood that he and Chandra were responsible for not only making a way for themselves through life, but were now responsible for Aiden’s safety and future as well. At that moment, Jason began to feel the impact of his mother’s concern before she passed from cancer years earlier: leaving our children a better world than we were given.
Jason Gibbs believes that every decision our local government makes, or doesn’t make, affects us and our children. And he especially believes that with Santa Clarita facing a continued population boom, our community now faces challenges that we have not seen before. “Homelessness, crime, congestion on our City streets, increasing drug trafficking and abuse, and other new challenges cannot be solved with yesterday’s thinking alone,” according to Jason. “My priorities of establishing a Santa Clarita Public Safety Commission, aggressively tackling the City’s unfunded pension liability, and attracting more well-paying middle-class jobs to Santa Clarita are the priorities that will turn our City’s legacy into tomorrow’s successes. Santa Clarita is a wonderful community, and what we have is worth fighting for.”
