Empowering HeArts 2019

 Single Mothers Outreach (SMO) is happy to announce nominations for Empowering HeArts 2020 are now open! Do you know someone who embodies next year’s theme, Trailblazer? Are you an artist in the Santa Clarita Valley? Head over to our website and download an application today! Each year, SMO holds their annual fundraising gala with a purpose to raise funds to continue in the mission to “empower single parents and their children by providing hope, support, and resources so families can become self-sustaining and thrive.” During the event, six women are honored and brought on stage to share their inspiring story with the community. Six local artists depict these stories through their preferred art medium and their artwork is then showcased during the gala. A fun-filled evening all while bringing awareness to the needs of single-parent families that many may not expect to end up in.
Empowering HeArts is not the only way you could help make a difference! Visit Closet on Main (COM), a trendy boutique located in the heart of Downtown Newhall. 100% of proceeds go to benefit the members and programs offered at SMO. Donations are also welcome! If you have clothes you no longer need and would like to donate, think of COM! We accept clothing, shoes, accessories, bags, belts, new beauty products, jewelry, and scarves. Please be mindful of COM being a resale boutique, donations must be in good enough condition in order to be sold.
