S.T.R.E.A.M Kids Expo
S.T.R.E.A.M Kids Expo wants to help students redefine the word “impossible”. Time and time again, we find that many students struggle with lack of confidence, which translates into at-risk behaviors, poor performance in school, and negative social interactions. According to the Search Institute, a non-profit organization that has been conducting research on child development, youth and families since 1966, found that promoting health and developmental assets leads to higher success in school and in life. To start the school year right, S.T.R.E.A.M created the Kids Conquer Challenge a free, one day event that challenges students both physically and mentally in a fun, interactive way. Through this day of fun, we want our students to know that nothing is “impossible” but to tell themselves, “I’m possible”.
On the day of the event attendees will get the chance to visit interactive booths from local businesses and services here in the Santa Clarita Valley. Each booth has tons of information on what they offer and provides vital tools for your child to start school confident and prepared.
During the challenge the registered teams and their captains will run through the course with each station becoming more difficult. For every station the teams will have to solve a problem that students face during the school year while undergoing a physical activity. We look forward to seeing you out there!
