Summer Days are Here
School is out, sunny days are here, and it is time to enjoy some fun days this summer. But first, some people spend their time cleaning out no longer used items from their homes. There is more time to organize closets, desks, purge the toy boxes, and straighten out the kitchen. This activity usually means there are bags and boxes of items to be donated. Please bring them to Assistance League Resale. You can drive up to our back door on Main Street in Downtown Newhall any time our store is open, and a friendly lady will carry your donations into the store and give you a donation receipt. The proceeds from our resale store stay in the Santa Clarita Community to help fund our many philanthropic programs. In only two months we will begin our annual Operation School Bell®. Students in need will be identified by their schools and given an opportunity to go shopping with a parent or guardian. Your donations make it possible for over 2,000 children each year from all the public schools in the Santa Clarita Valley to have new school clothes and shoes when they start the new school year. We would love to clothe more children this year, and your donations will help us achieve that goal.
Our store is full of beautiful treasures to be enjoyed by all family members. We have clothing for men, women and children. If you want to accessorize an outfit with a special handbag and shoes, or some pretty jewelry, you may find just the perfect item. Wonderful sports equipment is donated to us. If you like to spend your summer days reading, visit the book department which is sure to have something you will enjoy.
A special event that is popular in July is “Christmas in July”. For this special event, a section of the store is filled with beautiful Christmas items for the holiday.
Please bring us your donations, and then spend some time shopping. You will be glad you did, and so will the student wearing the big smile with his/her new school clothes because your donations helped fund our Operation School Bell Program.
