Benefits of Small Class Size – Creative Years Infant Center & Preschool
Why is it so beneficial to have a small class size, especially in preschool? When you search for a preschool, or if your child is enrolled in a program already, how many children are in their classroom?
Studies show that when class size is smaller, and staff-child ratio is lower, the teacher can provide more stimulating, responsive, warm and supportive interactions in the classroom. While designing lesson plans the teacher can make sure to meet each child’s needs and keep challenging them on an individual level while learning essential skills for life.
At Creative Years the class size is small, there are 6 children in the Part Time 2’s classes, 6-8 children in the Full Time 2’s classes, and 10 children in the 3’s & Pre-K Classes. The relationship of class size affects greatly on preschool children’s experiences with conflict resolution skills. The teacher has the opportunity to resolve issues immediately. In a small class the teacher can better assist and work with children who might not have good verbal skills and shows their emotions physically rather than verbally. As children learn through play and experiences, it is essential to give them guidance and support at a young age.
When your child learns in a small classroom environment with professional teachers; they build a strong foundation, they become more confident and develop a lifelong love for learning.
