Remodeling Solutions in a Time of Ever-Increasing Home Prices
Incomes and the number of new households have rebounded since the recession, but housing production has not! According to the 2019 State of the Nation’s Housing report, published by Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard, household growth ticks upward at a healthy pace, but the number of homes being built trails behind. This is resulting in competition and, therefore, rising house prices.
Due to this need for housing, the market is becoming unaffordable despite higher incomes. The report speculated that millennials and baby boomers will spur on demand in the remodeling market.
“If you like your home, but need more space or just a different layout, remodeling may be a great option for you,” said Randal Winter of Randal G. Winter Construction. “Remodeling affords many advantages, including saving money and staying in the familiarity of your home and neighborhood.”
If you are considering selling your current property for more space or an upgraded kitchen or backyard, you may want to ask yourself if a remodel could deliver the features you’re looking for. Purchasing the dream home is moving farther out of reach due to the ever-rising cost of homes; however, altering your current property will allow you to avoid inflated housing prices, while providing endless opportunity for customization.
Please contact us if you would like to discuss making your current home your dream home, or if you have an empty lot where you would like to build a home.
