Beautiful Old Town Newhall – Tis’ the Season in Old Town Newhall
As one of the oldest areas in the Santa Clarita Valley, Old Town Newhall is rich with the vibrant history of the past, dating back to the 1800s. Through the efforts of the City and the community, Old Town Newhall has been revamped and has quickly become one of the ideal places to enjoy. Keeping with the western charm, on any given day you can experience shopping, arts, culture and entertainment for the entire family, especially during this holiday season. For many families, visiting Old Town Newhall has been a tradition for many years. From October to New Year’s Eve, Main Street plays a huge role in bringing holiday cheer to the Santa Clarita Valley.
This October concludes the long running SENSES Block Party with a Halloween inspired theme: Halloween Haunt. When the sun goes down, the goblins, ghouls, witches, and spirits come out to play in a fun, festive way. Here you will see your favorite characters from popular films come to life. Since this is the last SENSES of the season, the City is going all out with decorations and props to give you a truly haunting experience. There will be a Halloween costume contest and plenty of vendors and entertainment. Come as you are or bring out your inner monster this October in Old Town Newhall. Also this month: enjoy the HorrorHaus Film Festival at the Main for all you horror fans. For three days, The MAIN will host several films from independent and international filmmakers who have a penchant for horror. This is an event you will not want to miss!
The following months are dedicated to not shaving for a cause, family togetherness, and giving thanks. However, Old Town Newhall holds a special event dedicated to the brave men and women who served our country: our veterans. Hosted in the Veterans Historical Plaza, community members will come out and show their appreciation for our veterans, current military members and their families. Hosted in partnership with local veterans organizations, this ceremony includes musical performers, speakers, and the changing of the flags. Later in the season, families will come from all over for Light Up Main Street.” Residents pack the street to see Old Town Newhall become a winter wonderland. Walk the street with your loved ones while appreciating the beautiful lights and savoring the delicious treats offered by local vendors. Cruise your way up and down the streets of Old Town Newhall and visit local boutiques, specialty shops, restaurants and wine bars. On top of finding that perfect holiday gift, you’ll enjoy delicious appetizers, wine, beverages and holiday specials. Be sure to grab a great spot to watch the city’s tree lighting ceremony later in November.
