Honoring a Veterinarian, Mentor, and Friend
In the month of September, we remembered and honored our dear veterinarian, mentor, and friend Dr. Tracy McFarland. Much like you, each of us are still having a hard time believing she’s gone. September 24th marked a year since her passing. We miss her every day and I know some of you miss her too. I especially miss her laugh! Even the things that used to drive us crazy – we miss that too! We often think about the interesting cases that come in that we know she would have loved to see, do a surgery on, or just be a part of. Including meeting our outstanding veterinary colleagues that we are now working with. She is still very much here in our day to day decisions, our operations, and our standards of care. We still strive every day to offer the best medicine to our clients and patients. After all that is what Dr. Tracy would have expected form us.
To memorialize her we had a memorial garden installed right next to front doors on the left-hand side. I invite you all to come and see it. If you are not able to come down or you still have strong feelings of grief, you can check it our on our Facebook “The Cat Doctor & Friends”, there are a couple videos up on our page of the garden. If you wish to make a donation to the memorial garden, we have a GoFundMe.com account, “Dr. Tracy’s Memorial Garden”, where you can electronically make a donation. Or if you rather come in and make a donation that is just fine too!
We want to thank everyone for their support over the past year. We will also be here to support you with the human animal bond plus if you need to talk about Dr. Tracy. We realize it can be difficult to walk in here without having some sad feelings, but I want you to know when you do walk in you will see all the familiar faces. That alone has been very comforting to most people. I have even heard the comment that some people feel closer to Dr. Tracy just by coming in. As the fall season is upon us, we are reminded how grateful and thankful we are to so many of you.
