S.T.R.E.A.M. Turns Five
It has been five years since 13-year-old Niamani Knight began her journey with S.T.R.E.A.M. Kids Expo. Now, she and her team are working to ensure children are prepared to meet industry expectations, eventually exceed them.
S.T.R.E.A.M. has genuinely immersed themselves into a full-scale operation that has one goal in mind; supporting kids. Through industry-led training like the new Ambassador Program or instructive, themed events like the interactive Expos, kids receive vital tools to connect the dots between education and career. S.T.R.E.A.M. has developed several events and activities, even including parents. Taking inspiration from her challenges as a mother trying to prepare her children for the future, Nikia Richards, S.T.R.E.A.M.’s President, created S.T.R.E.A.M. Parent Café™, which connects parents with industry. “By empowering parents, you strengthen and motivate the family to not just exist in a community but take part in the success of their community,” says Nikia.
S.T.R.E.A.M. has spread its reach across the country hosting events and being a keynote speaker for companies like Amazon, Lockheed Martin, Microsoft, and more. Looking forward, S.T.R.E.A.M. will continue their mission and want to thank the Santa Clarita Valley for making the past five years such a fantastic adventure. “I never imagined that S.T.R.E.A.M. would turn into what it is today. I am so thankful for every company and individual that has served and continues to serve through time, talent, and treasure. With their help, we have been able to do direct services with over 20,000 of my peers, the next generation of innovators, leaders, and entrepreneurs, ‘’commented Niamani
