Holiday at the Ranch SRD Straightening Reins
SRD Straightening Reins is happy to announce that the Foundation has moved to a new seven-acre ranch in Castaic. This new home allows SRD to grow its programs, has a great pasture where its herd can run and the new site has easy access from the five freeway.
Deborah Rocha, Executive Director, would like to thank all of the volunteers who assisted with the move, who continue to donate and sponsor the animals and who also spent hours at the Canyon Country site offering support to our community members who arrived after the tragic incident at Saugus High.
The Mission of SRD has always been to provide a safe place for youth and families and to address emotional challenges while visiting with the herd. The horses and other animals at SRD will listen and provide comfort. Private sessions are available through the use of the EAGALA model, including the mental health staff, the equine specialist and members of the SRD therapy herd.
