Assistance League Appreciates Our Donors
This is the time of year when people are cleaning out closets, cupboards and garages at the close of the holiday season. Many are left with unwanted items that can still be used or worn by someone else. We really appreciate receiving your gently used items of all descriptions. By donating generously to Assistance League Resale, you make our store possible. Because of the proceeds from the store, our volunteers are able to make our philanthropic mission a reality in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Assistance League volunteers are transforming the lives of children and adults through community programs. Our signature program is Operation School Bell® which provides new school clothes and shoes for children in need in all the public schools in the Santa Clarita Valley. Research has shown that when a child is dressed like his/her peers, their self-image is improved along with their school performance. The icare for kids piece of Operation School Bell provides eye examinations and glasses to students who are identified as needing them, but whose families lack the resources to provide them. It is obvious that being able to see the learning materials is vital for achieving the best classroom results. In 2019, Assistance League Santa Clarita served over 2,400 students. We hope to be able to serve more in 2020.
When you bring your donations to our back door, you can be sure that we have an abundance of loyal shoppers who will be eagerly awaiting them. Our inventory is added to daily, so people know to shop often. We will accept your donations during any of our open hours. Our all-volunteer store personnel are always very happy to help. We have begun our 31st year of serving our community. Thank you for bringing us your donations, making those years possible.
