Looking for their Forever Home – April 2020
The Brittany Foundation is a non-profit humane organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of homeless dogs, has several dogs for adoption.
Charlie
“I am here because my family became ill causing financial burden so they had to move into assisted living where they do not allow dogs my size. I lived with my family for 12 years, so this has been a big adjustment, but I have found a new friend in my roommate Gretchen. We go to the play yard together and for walks so that is helping me settle in. The staff say I am kind, gentle and wonderful on a leash. Do you have extra room on your couch where an old guy like me could crash?”
Gretchen
“Who needs a little Lab with an adorable touch of Puggle mixed in? The staff say I still look like a puppy and others say I have the face of an angel. I am a little shy at first but once you get to know me, you’ll see that I am fiercely devoted to those I trust. I love my walks with my roommate Charlie but want nothing more than to have a person of my own. While I look young, I am a senior who is housebroken. I had lived in a home with my friend Kelly until ending up here almost three years ago. Kelly was adopted a few weeks ago and I am left wondering why I am still here. Do you have room in your heart for a super sweet senior like me?”
Cornflake
“I was rescued from a high kill shelter in South LA. I guess my name comes from the fact that my coloring is that of a cornflake but I can’t be certain what they were thinking when they named me this. In any event the volunteers say it suits my personality. They tell me I am a diamond in the rough which I think means I have loads of potential but lack a certain polish. I love my long walks with the volunteers or for them to just sit in my room and rub my belly. I am loving and gentle with everyone I meet, including kids. Do you have room in your life for a people pleasing pup like me?”
Jake
“I am told I am quite a looker, American Staffordshire they say with perhaps some American Bulldog? I am here because after 10 years of living in a home with my family, they decided could no longer keep me but unfortunately that was two years ago. I would just love my golden years to be spent with a person by my side. A home with no dogs or children is where I will do best. I still have a good amount of energy so I will need a couple of walks a day but not too long I am a senior after-all. After our walks you can expect this 80 pounds of silly-love to sit snuggly in your lap or at least give it a really good try.”
