The Minis Are Here!
The mini horses, Sapphire and Freddie have arrived!! Excitement has been felt by the staff and clients who have met these two gentle additions. Recent Wellness visits at several high schools have been so successful that SRD has been recruited to begin visiting other schools in the Wm. S. Hart School District. As Sapphire and Freddie are adjusting to life at the Ranch, they will be preparing to be part of the rotation for the schools’ Wellness programs.
Deborah Rocha, Founder and Executive Director of SRD Straightening Reins, is an EAGALA certified trainer. “The EAGALA model is so effective because it embraces the science that humans learn best by doing. The model prescribes a hands-on approach where clients are given the space to project and analyze their situations, make connections, and find their own solutions. Since the solutions are personally experienced in conjunction with intellectual understanding, they tend to be deeper, more profound and longer lasting.” http://eagala.org More information about certification is available on their website.
SRD Straightening Reins continues to increase its client base with the Ranch Crew program and individual equine assisted counseling. Preparation is being made for a number of summer programs and parent support groups are continual so announcements will be imminent on the website. http://srdstraighteningreins.org. If you are interested in meeting Sapphire and Freddie and the other animals on the Ranch or if you would like more information about any of the programs, please contact Deborah at 661-803-1641 or via e-mail debbie@srdstraighteningreins.org.
