A Message From Newhall School District
On behalf of the Newhall School District, we want to congratulate the Class of 2020 graduates. We know things are not going as planned right now but we want you to keep your head up because life is just beginning and despite the quarrels of this COVID-19 pandemic you will be alright. The years forward are bright and we at the Newhall School District wish you the utmost happiness and success as you begin this next chapter.
Since the implementation of the stay-at-home order, the old adage of “it takes a village” to raise a child has never been more profound. The Newhall School District jumped into action by implementing plans to ensure their students were getting a high quality education in the comfort of their own homes. “We distributed over 3,000 laptops to students, and have needed to remain flexible because of the ever-changing challenges of this pandemic, it’s not face to face like we are used to but we are still maintaining the relationship so kids can stay connected,” commented Superintendent Jeff Pelzel. “I couldn’t be prouder of our entire Newhall School District staff, parent partners, and students in making this as seamless a transition possible,” he continued. It isn’t perfect, but with everyone playing their part the Newhall School District is thriving and finding positive outcomes. “Our goal was to move beyond a maintenance of learning to enriching and furthering student learning,” Mr. Pelzel added. As the Newhall School District continues to support their students and families virtually, the staff are committed to getting a little better each day as they put the finishing touches on a school year no one will never forget.
Superintendent Jeff Pelzel welcomes all families of the Newhall School District to join his Superintendent chats for more updates on the District and their plans moving forward. For more information visit the website: www.newhallschooldistrict.com
