A Note From the Publishers – June 2020
We’re celebrating our Graduates like never before! Even if ceremonies have been postponed or cancelled altogether, graduation has never been more important — and during the 2020 graduation season, young scholars are looking for new ways to celebrate this rite of passage. Graduation has always been a time to celebrate your favorite student’s accomplishments and the exciting things that lay ahead in their futures. Graduations may look a little different this year — families and friends will gather for a toast remotely from a safe distance, and students may toss their caps collectively over the Internet while sheltering at home — but they’re a good reminder that life post-grad isn’t always smooth sailing. We truly hope that when COVID-19 is behind us, our Class of 2020 Graduates will have the opportunity to celebrate. Our team at the Santa Clarita Magazine send our sincere congratulations to all of our graduates, always remember that anything is possible – all you have to do is believe in yourself. We wish you all the very best in what lies ahead in life. Good luck for a bright future!
Normally at this time of year, our pages are brimming over with good news, talking about the success of our local non-profit events, we miss not seeing everyone and are sad that our charities are feeling the pinch, we have a feeling that the end of the year is going to be very busy as we play catch-up trying to raise the much needed funds to help keep our non-profits afloat. We ask you to please support our small businesses who continue to give back through these trying times.
We reached out to our local dignitaries this month for their updates on COVID-19, take a minute to read their reports, they are always there for us and are working hard to get us back to normal.
We lost two great souls in the past month!
Ede Eichmann Anderson was taken way too early. Ede was just 46 years of age when cancer took her. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her wife, Shauntel and her entire family.
We were so sad to hear that on May 15, Mike Malone husband of Brian P. O’Connor passed away suddenly at the young age of 59 years.
Our hearts go out to family and friends of both Ede and Mike.
Also in this issue, we are celebrating Father’s Day with a great Gift Guide and competition results. And don’t forget about the kids, we have everything you are looking for to keep your kids busy at home, see our Kid’s Directory inside. Thanking you our readers for your support of our efforts on behalf of the Santa Clarita Valley, a place we have called home for the past 30 + years.
Until next month, stay safe! Linda, Moe and Alex Hafizi
