Call Out For Volunteers

The Santa Clarita Veteran Services Collaborative (SCVSC) is preparing for the day we can reopen the Vet Center and we would like to request additional people to volunteer to staff the desk during the weekdays. Volunteers do not have to have military experience. The shifts can be arranged to meet your availability and can cover:
-One day each week
-A half day each week
-One day every other week
-A half day every other week
A shift at the Vet Center usually encompasses answering telephones, describing the mission of the SCVSC, signing in walk-in visitors, providing referral resources, and assisting veterans with the food bank.
Post Service Officers (Veteran specialists from the VFW Post) have been scheduled into the SCVSC on Monday mornings to assist veterans on how to process or proceed with a claim.
The gratitude and expressions of thanks, from the veteran community, for the volunteer’s time and effort, is rewarding in itself.
