Learn to be You with Animals at the Ranch SRD Straightening Reins
As the uncertainty of schools reopening continues, parents are becoming anxious about their children’s future and how they will deal with their emotional health and well-being. Mental Health experts are predicting that extended school closures and lack of social interactions with their peers are having an effect on a child’s development of critical social and emotional skills. SRD Straightening Reins has created a new professionally supervised program called “Learn to be YOU with Animals at the Ranch.” Beginning September 9, 2020 and continuing through September 30th from 2:00 -4:00pm, children from the ages of eight to twelve will be provided with exercises to enhance their social and emotional learning. Utilizing the theories of Equine Assisted Learning, the children will be asked to use one of their five senses in each exercise.
Deborah Rocha, Executive Director, a retired teacher and certified Equine Specialist and Marcie McEndree, LPCC, and SRD’s clinical supervisor have developed a program through a series of exercises that will allow a child to build confidence, shape positive behavior, reframe negative thoughts and acknowledge each child’s efforts. All CDC guidelines will be adhered to while the child is on the Ranch.
The cost for this program is a minimal $100 and your child will be able to be outside in a serene and peaceful atmosphere away from technological interruptions while bonding with horses, mini goats, chickens, mini horses and mini donkeys while learning more about their own mental processes.
For more information about the “Learn to be YOU with Animals at the Ranch” program or other programs offered at SRD Straightening Reins, contact Deborah Rocha at (661) 803-1641. To remain within the CDC guidelines, this program is limited to only eight children during each four-week session. We look forward to your child’s participation at the Ranch. https://srdstraighteningreins.org
