Macy’s Gives Back To The Community
It was a great day for Assistance League Santa Clarita® recently, when Macy’s of Westfield Valencia Town Center teamed up with them to give back to the community. Because their store was closed for the spring season, due to COVID-19, they generously donated their inventory of 106 prom dresses and 417 children’s dress-up outfits, sizes 2T-18 to Assistance League. Five large racks of clothing were wheeled out by their employees as Tricia Miller, Personal Stylist & Corporate Sales, and Gabby Ayala, new Store Manager, provided a festive party atmosphere with music and dancing! Macy’s store is currently open for business and stocking their Fall merchandise.
The event was planned in conjunction with Carolyn Tranovich, Assistance League Santa Clarita’s Visual Merchandising Coordinator and Helen Barlow, Assistance League Santa Clarita’s Resale Store Manager.
A parade of volunteers’ cars transported the donated items, which were placed in storage until next spring. The Assistance League Santa Clarita store marketing team will plan special events to sell the donations and the proceeds will help fund their Operation School Bell® program, the largest of their community programs. The organization provides brand new clothing and shoes for school age children in need throughout the Santa Clarita Valley. A huge thank you to Macy’s!Assistance League Santa Clarita Resale Store is located at 24364 Main Street in Newhall. They sell clothing, accessories, housewares, art and antiques. Temporary store hours are Monday, Thursday and Friday from 1:00-4:00PM. The store also accepts donations during those hours.
