Oakmont Communities in the Santa Clarita Valley Offer Solutions, Peace of Mind
When I tell people I’m a Sales Specialist at Oakmont Senior Living, they probably assume that I assist seniors in finding a community near them that provides assisted living and memory care, first-rate health care and top-notch dining experiences. I am blessed to be able to do that every day. However, one of the most rewarding parts of my job is helping adult children sleep at night.
To the Santa Clarita families who are still trying to figure out how to adjust to the “new normal” brought about by the pandemic, I see you. Come to think of it, I am you.
The adult children of aging parents in Santa Clarita are spending their days “doing it all.” Each day I receive phone calls from amazing people whose hearts are full of love for their aging loved ones. On any given day, you will find me on the phone, counseling the loving daughter of a parent who tells me she is under a lot of pressure. She is a superhero with an invisible cape. Along with helping her kids manage their “online education,” she maintains her home, provides a household income, and works to maintain some sense of normalcy. She also feels responsible for her parent’s safety and wellbeing. At the end of a long day, she contemplates these scenarios:
What if Mom goes to the store for milk and does not disinfect the shopping cart?
What if Dad neglects to wear his mask while at the pharmacy?
In addition to everything else, she takes on the responsibility of picking up essential items for Mom or Dad. It can be overwhelming.
Oakmont of Santa Clarita and Oakmont of Valencia are first-class solutions. We offer our residents a beautiful and supportive lifestyle in their own spacious apartment homes with a compassionate team available 24 hours a day. We also provide family members something so desperately needed right now…. peace of mind.
