At Advanced Audiology, We Value Individualized Care
We would like to share with you some recent thoughts, of a young patient at our practice:
“Advanced Audiology has been a massive help in my life recently. To put it simply, I have had hearing loss almost all of my life. Typically I ignored it, as it was minor and I always felt like I was too young for hearing aids. As I got older, I noticed more and more hearing loss, and decided to get my ears checked. Nola is an amazing audiologist. She made me feel welcome, and educated me on the nerve damage I have, which contributes to my hearing loss. She offered hearing aids that would help with everyday conversations and experiences. I love these hearing aids – (Livio Edge AI, by Starkey). They are tiny, lightweight, and completely unnoticeable. They are also bluetooth capable, so it connects easily to my mobile phone and helps tune out ringing in the ears, which was a constant problem for me; I don’t even notice it when my hearing aids are in! They translate dozens of languages, keep track of physical and mental activity, and have many more features to help with everyday activities. I’m 26 years old and having hearing aids for two months has made me realize how helpful they could have been throughout my life. The fear of having “bulky” hearing aids or being too young for them is completely silly. I encourage anyone and everyone to have their hearing checked and to do so with Advanced Audiology. The staff is caring, kind, and very accommodating. Nola is great doctor, who makes you feel more like a friend than a patient. Thank you, Advanced Audiology, for changing my life for the better!”
Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, we would like to let you know, there is a little-known link between cancer and hearing. One possible side effect of some chemotherapy drugs is ototoxicity, or toxicity to one’s inner ear, which can cause hearing loss, ringing in the ears, or balance disorders. An audiologist is often part of the treatment team and with early detection, proper care, and advanced technology, we can address hearing loss and restore our patients’ quality of life. Nola Aronson is a 20-year breast cancer survivor, so this October, Nola Aronson’s Advanced Audiology stands in solidarity with all our patients who are or have been affected by breast cancer.
