Safety in the Dental Office
With all the concerns about COVID-19 and dental offices, we want to put all your minds at ease. We have always adhered to strict guidelines to make sure everyone feels safe coming back to the office to do their dental treatment. As dental procedures and technologies have evolved, the concerns for aerosol creating procedures has increased. Inhalation of airborne particles and aerosols produced during dental treatment may cause adverse respiratory health effects and bidirectional disease transmission.
We are well aware of these “invisible risks” within the operatories and we follow strict guidelines in infection
prevention protocols before, during and after patient care.
Dental health professionals and patients are at risks due to the frequency of close, personal face to face communication and exposure to saliva, blood and other body fluids. We follow a strict recommendation by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention called universal precautions. We use protective personal equipment such as N95(KN95), full face shields, goggles, non-latex gloves, disposable gowns and we change out after each patient care. Each employee is well trained on proper disinfection procedure and are using the approved disinfectants.
Each patient is also screened, health history reviewed and documented. We asked each patient to use the hand sanitizer upon checking in, we take their temperature and usher them in their respective assigned operators to minimize their contact with other scheduled patients. We ask patients to rinse with hydrogen peroxide rinse to kill any bacteria they may have in their mouth prior to starting any procedure. Also, we purchased multiple air purifier in the office. These air purifiers, filters the air inside the office very 15 minutes, they are also equipped with UV lights which ensure that
pollutants, dust, mold spores and bacteria are safely moved. They automatically monitor and react and adjusts to the need to ensure air quality in the whole office. We also revised our office schedule to accommodate the new safety protocols in placed. We truly care for our patients that is why we are adhering to a stricter CDC guidelines and recommendations in treating our patients safely. We also take into consideration the health of our team and their families.
For any questions and concerns, please call Dr. Kimberly A. Rosen’s dental office at (661)255-2545.
