The Brittany Foundation Finding Their Forever Home – October 2020
A non-profit humane organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of homeless dogs, has several dogs for adoption.
Bowie
We rescued him from a high kill shelter on New Years Eve of 2018. He has been here for almost 2 years and we do want him to finally have a home of his own. He is 10 years, just 10 lbs and a Chihuahua mix with a hint of Corgi. Bowie had a minor setback earlier this year when he was diagnosed with cancer, but fortunately they got it all. It is just something we will need to keep an eye on. He’s a happy guy who enjoys long walks, chewing on nylabones and playing with his toys. We would love him to spend his golden years in an adult home with no other animals where he can be the center of attention. Do you have room in your heart for a spunky senior with lots of life yet to live?
Baby Love
We rescued him from a high kill shelter just in time. He was severely malnourished, had double ear infections, some of the worst we have ever seen and was covered in mats from head to toe but you would never know it looking at him now. We think he is about 14 years old and a Miniature Poodle with a splash of Bedlington Terrier. He has become a bit of a rock star here and you can see his videos on our Instagram page: The Brittany Foundation. He has a big personality, loves to go for walks and can be a bit bossy when it’s meal time but we promise you will not find a better snuggle partner. Do you have room in your life for sweet Baby Love?
Zoey
“You are Gorgeous! That’s what I hear everybody say, so it must be true. I am still young at just 2 years and they think I am a German Shepherd and Malamute with possibly some Husky mixed in. Regardless of that everyone says I am a unique beauty. I did get to live in a home for a few weeks but unfortunately I did not do well with the smaller dog in the house so I was returned back to The Brittany Foundation.
I have a great deal of energy, can easily climb and jump so I will need a lot of exercise, a very secure yard and should be the only dog in the house. The volunteers here say I love every person I meet and walk pretty well on a leash but still need some work which is to be expected since I am just a pup after all. I know sit, shake, high 5 and I am working on stay. I am stunning, happy and really want my next stop to be my forever home.”
Annie
This adorable 5 year old gal is a dream. She was rescued from a county shelter but unfortunately there was an aggressive animal in the house that would attack her. So, for her safety, we stepped in and offered her what is hopefully just a temporary home here. This girl is a love, is kind and gentle to all animals and humans. She loves to snuggle and will melt your heart when she nestles herself into your shoulder. She’s a perfect size for just about any situation at just 10 lbs. We think she is a Chihuahua and Rat Terrier mix. She looks forward to her walks, is excellent on a leash, and keeps her room here incredibly neat. We think whoever welcomes her into their life will instantly fall madly in love.
