Vote Gary Martin for Water Board
I think we can all agree that Santa Clarita is a great place to live and raise a family. We have safe, friendly neighborhoods, great schools, and many wonderful amenities to enjoy. For this we can thank the many committed and caring people who work together for the greater good of the community. This is why my wife Phyllis and I have made this valley our home since 1978.
None of this, however, would be possible without a safe and reliable supply of high-quality drinking water. Through earthquakes, droughts, fires, and COVID-19, the SCV Water Agency and its predecessors have always delivered to their customers. This takes a talented and dedicated Agency staff and the work of its governaing body, the Board of Directors.
As President of the SCV Water Board, I am proud of the work that we have done to keep the water flowing to our customers. In just the 3rd year of operation, our new valley-wide Agency has proven to be a real success story. Previously projected to save $14 million over 10 years, we are now on track to save $20 million in the first 3 years. We are also moving aggressively to address the recent occurrence of man-made PFAS chemical contaminants in our groundwater supply. In my next term on the Board, I will continue my efforts to deliver to YOU the promises and commitments made during the formation of SCV Water.
It has been my experience that the Water Board is most effective when it includes experienced water professionals who understand the complexities of securing and maintaining a diversified water supply portfolio here in Southern California. As a registered professional Civil Engineer with many years of experience in construction, operation and management of public water supply systems, I believe that I am the candidate who can best serve you on the SCV Water Board.
Santa Clarita is my home and water is my career, and we mustkeep water professionals on the Board! I respectfully ask you to Vote Gary Martin for Water board!
