Being Thankful
Fall weather is finally here and as the days get shorter, the temperatures will dip lower so it is time to bring some warmth into your home and the charm of the holidays. Thanksgiving is a time that we all come together taking part in parties, special events and gatherings with our loved ones. In the time of COVID we won’t get to experience our usual gatherings but we will still celebrate and be thankful for all we have. So, of course we want our home to look its very best and to draw in the spirit of the holiday! Using warm colors, simple touches of nature and just a hint of sophistication, your home will be on its way to welcome guests.
In getting ready for Thanksgiving you want to set a mood from everything to your centerpieces, fall wreaths, draperies, pillows and cushions to get in the mood of fall and the holidays!
Centerpieces can be as simple as fruit-filled displays with pumpkins and gourds added to a candle collection or even natural centerpieces with fall leaves and flowers. Just use your imagination and let your creative juices flow and have fun.
Your mantel should be a focal point of harvest inspired collections of either pumpkins or gourds, perhaps some dried wheat, or go with plates with easy to use adhesive disc hangers with a Thanksgiving theme. Candles always give a sophisticated look and bring warmth to your mantel. Using rust colored candles and seasonal materials in glass vases makes for a really pretty look.
Make sure your front door has been properly decorated with a Thankful wreath as it sets a most welcoming tone at your front door. Simply switching out your decorative pillows on your couch in fall colors and placing fall spreads around, as well as, table skirts adds a punch of color to your room and helps to pull the look together!
Don’t forget your bedrooms by changing out bedding as it will give a nice twist on the Thanksgiving atmosphere. Comforters, duvets and bedspreads can all help to achieve that goal!
I wish you a very Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving!
