2020 has been a doozie! Whether we have been affected by COVID physically, emotionally, or economically, we have all been impacted! But 2021 is a fresh start, a time to heal, forgive, let go, learn lessons, and move forward. An opportunity to rebuild, prioritize, and restructure. With a new year comes new goals, dreams, hopes, and ways to manifest them.
The animals at The Gentle Barn get this chance every day! Each of our horses, donkeys, cows, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys, llamas, emus, dogs, cats, pigeons and parrots get to redefine themselves and what they want out of life every day. They get to find safety when before they had none, create family and make friends when they were previously alone, and get the very best of sanctuary life. Maybe they want more tummy rubs, carrots, or time in the sun? Maybe they want to be poolside on hot days? Or maybe they get the gift of not being afraid for the first time in their lives? At The Gentle Barn their every wish and desire comes true and they live these dreams on behalf of the billions of animals who are not so lucky.

The Gentle Barn is a national non-profit organization located in Santa Carita, California, with locations in St Louis, Missouri and Nashville, Tennessee as well. We are home to animals rescued from severe abuse and neglect, and host to children who are at risk, from the inner city, and who have special needs.
