Wiser Choices for the New Year
If I had a crystal ball at this time last year, and I could have seen what 2020 had in store for us, I know I would have made different choices in the ways I prepared. My family and I spent much of last year in a state of extreme uncertainty. I think that’s true for most of us.
At the time that I am writing this, I’ve not yet been vaccinated for COVID-19. At the time you are reading this, unless something unforeseen happens, I will have received my first dose. The light at the end of the tunnel is near. Our residents and team members at Oakmont Senior Living are among the first to be offered the vaccine. This is the moment we have been waiting for. This is the time when we can all take a deep breath (as long as we are still standing six feet apart). This is our baby-step back to “normalcy”.
We still prioritize safety among all things here at Oakmont. My hope for this year is that it will bring about hugs, laughter, togetherness, joy, love, good health, and peace of mind. Given the fact that we have our own testing program and are first in line for the vaccine, the wisest choice for older adults is not to prolong the uncertainty at home any longer. Life is too precious. If we have learned anything in the last year, it is not to take a single moment with our loved ones for granted.
At Oakmont of Santa Clarita and Oakmont of Valencia, we are here when you need us. For more information, give us a call at (661) 295-2025.
