Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley Installs Z Club at Golden Valley High School
We are proud to announce that Zonta Club of SCV chartered a Z Club at Golden Valley High School on November 9, 2020. November is a BIG month for the club. Zonta Club of SCV celebrated its 46th birthday on November 14th and Zonta International’s 101st birthday was on November 8th. And now, with the Z club’s inception, the month of November will be even more special.
Zonta International (ZI) believes in mentoring young leaders. We are proud of the committee that worked so hard to bring this Z Club to fruition. We would like to thank the help and the ad-vice we received from Ann Banks (District 9, Z Club Chair). We would also like to thank the fol-lowing for speaking at the November installation event and encouraging this amazing service project: Denise Marchant (Z Club liaison), Brittany Vaughan (District 9 Governor), Cameron Smyth (Mayor, City of Santa Clarita), Sal Frias (Principal, Golden Valley High School), Linda Storli (Board President, William S Hart Union High School District), Dr. Cherise Moore (Clerk of the Board, William S Hart Union High School District & fellow Zontian), Beth Heiserman (President of the Zonta Club of SCV) and Dr. Sharon Langenbeck (Zonta International President).
Each of the Z Club board members received a package with a Z Club t-shirt, face mask, patch, necklace charm and a few other Zonta goodies. Our Z Club liaisons: Sally Mostafa, Shelley Coe and Deb Escoe have been and will be very influential in mentoring these young adults.
Zonta Club of SCV will mentor the Golden Valley Z club with the goal of improving the lives of women and girls locally and internationally. Zonta International is a global organization of more than 28,000 women and men in more than 1,100 Zonta clubs in 62 countries. For more information, please visit: www.scvzonta.org/z-club/
