A Message to the Students of the Newhall School District
This month I have chosen to use this opportunity to write a letter to our students. To the students at the Newhall School District, I want to tell you how proud I am of all that you have accomplished over this past year. It was one year ago this month that you underwent tremendous change, and you did so with grace and optimism.
From attending school in the classroom with your peers to learning completely virtually through a computer at your homes, you took on no easy feat. Throughout this year, you have adapted to the challenges you faced and overcame them with confidence. You have completed one grade level and advanced to the next. You have learned new skills and practiced others such as navigating a computer, typing, communicating in different forms, and adapting to the situation at hand.
It has not been easy, but you have excelled. You have proven to me that our mission of creating students who will become global citizens who think critically, solve problems, embrace diversity in people and viewpoints, and have a passion for learning and the arts is realized. You have done each of these things over the course of this past year and will be better students, professionals, and citizens for it.
We are thrilled to have our wonderful students back to campus. Your safety and that of our teachers, staff, administrators, and community is always our upmost priority. We will continue to make modifications and follow the direction of the County Department of Public Health and the various other health and safety organizations.
Students, I thank you for being brave, flexible, and resilient during this time and I ask you to keep going. Keep pushing forward and know that we are always working to improve your learning and support your dreams. Everyone at the Newhall School District is cheering you on. We know you will persevere and reach your dreams.
To enroll your child in one of the Newhall School Districts 10 award winning schools, contact Rosana Valadez at 661-291-4163. We look forward to the opportunity to welcome your student to the Newhall School District family.
