The Best Kept Secret is The A-List Hair & Makeup Studio

The A LIST Hair and Makeup Studio was originally presented in Newhall in 2009 by Sally Van Swearingen and Catherine Weber. It was one of the first of its kind; a private, more exclusive option that offered clients everything they may need to ‘Get Gorgeous’.
It was the first small stand-alone studio in the Santa Clarita Valley. “Back then you would rent a chair in a larger salon or work out of your home, and what we created was something similar to a ‘best kept secret’ that you would find in Beverly Hills where celebrities would be brought into a private area to get their hair and makeup done. Now all of my clients can enjoy the same experience”. commented Sally. Eventually Sally’s original partner Catherine opened another salon and Sally, with her daughter Brigitte, continued on with The A LIST concept.
A two-year collaboration in a large Valencia space followed. Her clients wanted the original feel of The A LIST. “Clients missed the intimate feel of our small private studio, and we were thrilled to return to our original roots and business model”.
Today, The A LIST Hair and Makeup Studio is even better, with two hair styling chairs, divided by a large makeup counter with beautiful natural light, in the beloved Perkins Building in Old Town Newhall. “I just feel so blessed to be in such a historic place and be able to give my clients complete focused attention again. When not in her studio, Sally is a Local 706 Union Makeup Artist, grooming everyone from sports broadcasters (NBC Sports) to on camera TV news anchors (KTLA CH 5), and is particulary excited about her continued work with our ‘Team USA’ Olympic Athletes.
