Gentle Barn Programs For People
Most know that we save and rehabilitate animals at The Gentle Barn, but did you know that we have many programs for people? Once we restore our rescued animals to health and wholeness, we partner with them to heal people from the same stories of trauma. We have many exciting programs to heal people, inspire them, and open their hearts to others and themselves.
We are now reopened to the public every Sunday from 10-2 for guests to hug the cows, cuddle the turkeys, give the pigs tummy rubs, feed horses, pet goats and sheep, and hear the animal’s stories of resilience. We host private tours during the week and on Saturdays so you can have the place to yourself. We host school field trips and birthday parties where kids can learn about body language, empathy, tolerance, and be empowered to be heroes in their own neighborhoods. We host cow hug therapy sessions where you can meditate in the barnyard, hug cows, connect to nature, wash away the last year, and move forward with hope. Our Peace Enhancement Program runs September through June where we do different activities to cultivate self-awareness and hope for the future. We host animal assisted therapy programs where children and adults alike can practice vocal skills, motor skills, leadership skills, life skills, and confidence. And in our literacy program, children falling behind in school can read to a very furry and non-judgmental audience and improve scholastically while improving their self-esteem.
The Gentle Barn is a national organization with locations in Santa Clarita, St Louis, and Nashville, that rescues animals from severe abuse and neglect. Once healed, the animal’s partners with us to inspire people with the same stories of trauma, and connect children to the love and magic of animals. The Gentle Barn currently hosts virtual and in person private tours, Cow Hug Therapy Sessions, and are open to the public on Sundays. Please visit www.gentlebarn.org to find out how you can come for a visit or enroll in one of our life changing programs. Follow The Gentle Barn on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
