36 Years of Evidence Based Treatment
Biofeedback and Neurofeedback therapies may help persons with Anxiety, Depression, stress related medical disorders, ADD, Peak Performance Training for athletes, executives, and students and most recently, working with COVID Long Haulers. They are short term treatments, often cutting the time of lengthy psychotherapy or helping one cut back or eliminate medications.
When I started Valencia Pain and Stress Management Center in 1985, biofeedback was used in conjunction with other treatment modalities. little did I know how Biofeedback and Neurofeedback would blossom. Though that business ended in favor of Biofeedback & Family Therapy Center, I’ve always strived to bring state-of-the art modalities to help learn to control fight/flight arousal to reduce symptoms.
Treating ADD patients has been common to my practice since the 1980s and technology has improved. Quantitative EEG compare’s your brain to a database of neurotypical brains and treatments can be streamlined to teach the brain to self-regulate and pay attention. Seizure, post-concussion including football dementia, other head injuries and now there’s amazing work being done with post COVID conditions.
My passion in biofeedback therapy extends to students in K-12. I was fortunate to work with students at Saugus High and Sierra Vista Jr. High in the 1980s and 1990s and then with the Albert Einstein Academy in 2012 with test anxiety. We had amazing outcomes. My pioneering work merged biofeedback with couples counseling. I’ve presented at professional conferences, and published on these subjects and am hoping to add Virtual Reality Biofeedback to my practice in this next year to help patients get a handle on phobias as they are exposed to spiders, public speaking and many other fears.
I am hoping to be there for you in the next 35 years with innovative and effective treatment!
