Did You Know?
There is a great deal of difference between framing materials. Custom framing isn’t just about enhancing the beauty of the art but should be about preserving it as well. When searching for a framer and comparing prices, you should be aware that the materials used in the framing process can vary significantly in quality. At FASTFRAME, we are concerned with preservation and conservation of your art so all of our materials are museum quality and acid free. The standard glass that we use on most items, has 99% UV protection so your art won’t fade from sunlight or lighting within the home. We do our best to educate our customers on how best to protect their piece. So, if a framer quotes you a very low price, ask about the materials that will be used. Many framers will use a Premium Clear glass that offers little to no UV protection. The Mat boards may not be acid and lignin free and as a result could damage your art. Keep in mind when framing with acrylic there are various types available as well. The Acrylic we use at FASTFRAME is a high quality museum grade. It is not the thin plastic found in many ready-made products. A Conservation Acrylic with UV protection is recommended for those pieces that you wish to keep protected. Custom Framing is an investment and should last for generations.
We are also here to help you design your piece. We have technology that allows you to see it before you buy it, taking the guesswork out of trying to imagine what it might look like.
Visit Randy and Rosemarie at FASTFRAME in the Whole Foods Shopping Center next to Kohl’s at 24204 Valencia Boulevard 291-1325 to learn more about Custom Framing.
