Two Artisan Wineries at Double Trouble Wine Room
The Double Trouble Wine Room in Old Town Newhall – the home of TWO artisan wineries, Pagter Brothers Winery and Hoi Polloi Winery – has a comfortable, casual, no-snobs-allowed atmosphere and the feel of a neighborhood pub, but with amazing artisan wines made locally, here in the Santa Clarita Valley, from grapes grown in Paso Robles, Santa Barbara County, and Sonoma.
Whether tasting and talking wine with the ever-present winemakers, sharing a bottle while enjoying one of the many excellent bands and musicians that the ex-music business proprietors bring in, or hanging out with friends on the comfortable and spacious back patio, Double Trouble is a place where wine newbies and aficionados alike can have a great time while drinking high-scoring, award-winning wines.
“Our goal was to bring a bit of wine country to Old Town Newhall,” said Doug Minnick, co-winemaker of Hoi Polloi. “We know there are many people like us who love the fantastic wines of the Central Coast, but don’t always have time to make the trip to Paso Robles, Santa Ynez, Napa, or wherever. Now they can just come to Old Town Newhall instead!”
For all you wine lovers who are in wine clubs out of the area, Scott Page Pagter, winemaker and brother at Pagter Brothers asks, “How many opportunities do you really get to take advantage of your free tastings and bottle discounts at those distant wineries? Well, if you’re in our wine club you can drop in whenever you want and have a free tasting. Come by every week, a lot of our members do! And there are no expensive wine shipping charges like with out of town wineries!”
You are also welcome to bring food in from our local craft restaurants, your own home, or even order delivery and enjoy it with a wide variety of wines.
As Scott says, “See you tomorrow!”
Double Trouble is also available for private events. For more information go to www.doubletroublewineroom.com or go to Facebook: doubletroublewineroom.
