NEW Friendships in the NEWhall School District
It’s important to feel included and empowered, for anyone. But it’s especially Important during the formative years of elementary school. That’s why the NEWhall School District places so much emphasis on creating an environment of trust, equality and inclusiveness, where values like honesty and compassion are nurtured.
These things are important for children during normal times, but even more so as we all work our way out of the COVID-19 pandemic. With children having spent so much time at home over the past year and a half, we have an opportunity and duty to not only educate children, but also provide them opportunities to build friendships, to establish and re-establish social connections, and to feel empowered socially and emotionally.
In the Newhall School District, whole-student development is a vital part of what we do. Children and families are empowered to help shape each child’s unique educational and social experience. This results in students who are more engaged academically, and a collaborative environment that promotes interaction and cooperation.
Our state-of-the-art academic programs are complemented by our award-winning Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) program, which aims to provide an affirming learning experience for every student at each of our 10 award-winning campuses in the Santa Clarita Valley: McGrath, Meadows, Newhall, Oak Hills, Old Orchard, Peachland, Pico Canyon, Stevenson Ranch, Valencia Valley, and Wiley Canyon.
And, you don’t have to live within our district boundaries to enroll your child in the Newhall School District: Our district is open to all, enabling children to benefit from the accepting environment and values that are an indelible part of the culture on every one of our campuses, no matter where they live.
Trust. Compassion. Independence. It’s ALL about the kids in the Newhall School District, and we are proud of the accomplishments of all the children in our district — educationally, socially and emotionally. We welcome you and your child, of any grade level, to join the Newhall School District family.
