Cow Hug Therapy

These are trying times and the pandemic is not completely over yet. People are still struggling, afraid, and isolated. And many have gone back to work and had to adjust to our new normal of mask wearing and worrying about our health. There is one place however that is free of worry and always feels happy, and that is The Gentle Barn! The Gentle Barn is a safe outdoor environment where our guests can be themselves. Whether they come to connect or just meditate with animals, we have peace, love, and kindness to offer in our Cow Hug Therapy sessions.
We should be more like cows! Cows are a vegan, matriarchal society that puts family first. They meditate every day and are present, grounded, and completely inclusive, allowing anyone to be accepted and loved by them. They are designed to have a very soft footprint on Mother Earth. And they are extremely caring and affectionate with one another. They face their challenges head on, and they protect one another as a group.
When I am having a hard day, I head to the cows, get wrapped in their embrace, and feel better right away. Our cows are here for you too. The Gentle Barn is a national non-profit organization located in Santa Carita, California, with locations in St Louis, Missouri and Nashville, Tennessee as well. We are home to animals rescued from severe abuse and neglect, and host to children who are at risk, from the inner city, and who have special needs in our Peace Enhancement Programs, animal assisted therapy programs, and literacy programs. We are open to the public on Sundays and host virtual tours, school field trips, birthday parties, and cow hug therapy sessions.
