The Brittany Foundation Finding Their Forever Home – March 2022
A non-profit humane organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of homeless dogs, has several dogs for adoption.
KODA & BEAR
These two are just the sweetest pair despite the fact they were bounced around from home to home and were in and out of the shelter more times than we can count, due to no fault of their own. At one of the homes they were in, the boys were just left in the backyard to fend for themselves. In another, they were left in the yard for days at a time until they finally dug themselves out and were picked up by Animal Control. In their last home they said they were moving and could not take the boys with them. And so, they ended up here. However, since they have been with us, they are getting the exercise, structure and attention that they need and we have had no issues with digging or anything else. Dogs need exercise. This fun-loving and adventurous pair will definitely keep your life interesting. They love to sit, cuddle and enjoy playing with toys. We imagine they have epic tales to tell and, through it all, they have stuck together so they will only be placed together. The staff here loves them, but the goal for every pup we rescue is always a forever home. Bear is an 8-year-old terrier mix and Koda is a 7-year-old Carolina dog. Koda can be a little unsure of new people, so we are asking potential adopters to spend time with them here at our sanctuary a few times before considering adopting.
LOLA
Calling all Pug Lovers. Despite her disability, Lola is easy to care for and has all the characteristics people love about Pugs; i.e., charming, laid back, gets along with other dogs and is affectionate and loyal. She gets around surprisingly well when she is not in her wheel cart and, as long as her bladder is expressed frequently, she does great from a health perspective too. She loves everyone she meets and cuddles like crazy. She gets so excited to go for walks and you would not even believe how quickly she can move in her wheel cart, especially proud of her stylish tires. We are actively looking for a person who can help her live her absolute best life in a home of her very own. If you are interested in fostering or sponsoring this precious 9-year-old Pug, please email or call us.
CHOCOLATE & SPICE
This precious Chihuahua duo lost the only home and person they ever knew, which is why they are here with us. They are about 12 years old and are bonded so they will only be placed in a home together. They both love short leisurely walks, still play with toys and have fit right in here with our other little dogs. They sleep together curled up in a chair at night and we can only imagine they are dreaming of their forever home. Chocolate does need to lose a little bit of weight and is taking a daily medication to bring her liver values down. We want nothing more than to see these two in a warm and loving home, so we have placed them into our “forever foster” program. You provide a safe, kind and nurturing forever home for them, and we provide the rest. Please consider becoming a forever foster for this sweet senior pair.
ZOEY
This stunning girl has been with us for over 2 years and we are at a loss as to why. She is athletic, loves every person she meets, and is eager to please. We know placing a dog as an only dog makes adoptions more difficult, but we just know the perfect home is out there for her. We know she needs a very active home and life. She has loads of energy and potential. Because of this we are offering free training sessions with our trainer for the right adopter. We are certain there are no limits to what she can learn; she’s that smart. We do know she needs space to run and walls to keep her safe. She can easily scale a 6-foot wall. She just breaks our hearts because she is just 3 years old and has now lived 70% of her young life in a shelter or rescue. She deserves so much more, and we are not giving up on finding her the home she deserves.
