A Note From the Publishers – June 2022
Are you ready for June? We sure are!
This issue of the Santa Clarita Magazine is simply packed with information and things to do for the summer.
We are pleased to welcome the SCV Veg Fest on our cover this month. The event is scheduled for June 4 at Central Park, and will feature some great live music, local breweries and wineries, and how about over fifty food trucks and vendors participating to make the day complete. This is one you should not miss, turn to page 24 for more information and take the whole family.
Talking about a fun time, mark the date as we celebrate the WISH Foundation and their upcoming event Cars Under the Stars at Westfield Town Center on July 23. You’ll find over a hundred classic, hot rods, muscle cars and motorcycles! Vote for your favorites, listen to the live band, sip on a cold beer and fill up from a variety of food and snack vendors! You can find all the relevant information on page 26.
Santa Clarita is a diverse community, back in 2019, the City of Santa Clarita officially declared June as Pride Month, this was a huge step for the LGBTQ+ population here. We have many organizations within the SCV that support Pride Month, please turn to page 28 for more details and get involved.
Mission Opera is pleased to present “The 13 Clocks” at the Canyon High School Performing Arts Center on June 10 and 11. Based on a popular children’s fantasy novel by James Thurber, “The 13 Clocks” is a delightful fairytale filled with magic and fantasy, check out the whole story on page 38.
Keeping it local, the SCV Senior Center will once again be hosting their Celebrity Waiter event on July 16. This is such a fun event, the theme this year is “A Night in Hollywood” so look out your fanciest evening wear and get involved, you won’t be sorry.
Old Town Newhall is one of our favorite places to visit. We feature some of the best dining, wineries, theaters and shopping in our Old Town Newhall section starting on page 48.
Looking for something special for your Dad or Grad, check out our Gift Guide on page 72, it’s full of great ideas. Also in this issue we may be able to solve your problem of what to do with the Kids this summer, check out our Kids Summer Directory on page 88 and 89.
Happy Dad’s day and congratulations to all of our graduates!
Sincerely, Linda, Moe and Alexander Hafizi
