SCV Senior Center – Celebrity Waiter “A Night in Hollywood Under the Stars” at Bella Vida

by | Jun 30, 2022 | Community

Celebrity Waiter is the signature fundraising event for the SCV Senior Center and will take place on Saturday, July 16th under the stars in the beautiful Bella Vida Courtyard with an expected crowd of over 250 supporters.
“A Night in Hollywood…Under the Stars” will feature a Tinsel Town/famous film-themed event replete with great food, live “Hollywood” music, a live auction with Hollywood prizes, and much more. Costumes, while optional, usually abound and offer attendees a chance to live out the theme with some wild abandon and zany antics.
This year the “Celebrity Waiters” will be the volunteers who have served the Senior Center in the Nutrition Program and Drive Thru at the Senior Center. This new concept of the Celebrity Waiters follows the Senior Center efforts to give thanks to those who served during the pandemic. Last year, the Meals on Wheels drivers were honored.
Elizabeth Hopp and Melanie Meyer are the Co-Chairs for this year’s event and have lined up an exciting agenda for all. Brian Koegle – current “Man of the Year” for Santa Clarita is back as Master of Ceremonies. The Title Sponsor this year is “Comfort Keepers-In Home Care with owner Myles McNamara leading the support for the Senior Center.
The SCV Senior Center’s mission – to promote dignity, independence, and quality of life for all seniors. Throughout the pandemic, the Center held more than 90 drive-in and courtyard events for seniors. These events, which have safely helped combat feelings of isolation and even depression, have included monthly comedy nights, concerts, movies, and bingo.
The Center, and its stellar food/banquet services, have averaged more than 72,000 meals, served each month through our Meals on Wheels program and lunch drive-thru. Offering a caring voice across the line, our support staff makes more than 1,000 Telephone Reassurance calls each month to frail and homebound seniors. For many of these seniors, that call, and their home-delivered meal, come from the only caring voice and smile they will experience that day.
The staff and volunteers are very excited with the recent reopening of the center and to see the many smiling faces coming into the facility once again. They are here for many reasons: visiting with old friends and making new ones, congregate dining, engaging in fun and educational activities at the SCV Senior Center at Bella Vida at 27180 Golden Valley Road.
The Celebrity Waiter Dinner has a strong reputation as a fun and inspiring event with all proceeds benefiting SCV Senior Center and the 15,000 individuals served each year.
A Night in Hollywood…Under the Stars…come join us.
